On the Wednesday September 7 Apple Event the new iPhone 14 was announced in a big way. But what has actually changed inside? We put all iPhone 14 specifications for you in a row!
The iPhone 14 series consists of four different models. In terms of specifications, these models can be divided into two duos: the iPhone 14 & iPhone 14 Plus versus the iPhone 14 Pro & iPhone 14 Pro Max. The Pro editions are superior to the other versions in terms of specifications.
From three to two different sizes
The iPhone 13 series had a mini and Pro Max edition in addition to the basic version, and with that you could get the predecessor of the iPhone 14 in three different sizes. This changes in the latest iPhone series: the mini variant disappears from the scene.
The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro have a 6.1 all-screen OLED display. Do you like a slightly larger screen? Then choose the iPhone 14 Plus or the iPhone 14 Pro Max: they have a screen with a diameter of 6.7 inches.
Pro models ideal for the camera enthusiast
Are you someone who prefers to capture everything on image all day long? Then the Pro editions of the iPhone 14 are recommended. They have three cameras, including a 48 (!) megapixel main camera. The other cameras are a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens. With this you can take fantastic photos in every situation and you can even shoot videos in 8K.
The iPhone 14 and the Plus model must acknowledge their superiority in this. These models have two cameras with less high quality. The Dual camera system features a 12 megapixel main camera and a 12 megapixel ultra-wide angle; so the telephoto lens is missing. You still shoot very nice images with the two cameras, but for the highest quality you really have to go to the Pro series.
Latest chip not yet in all versions
The iPhone 13 used the A15 Bionic chip, the fastest and most advanced smartphone chip on the market at the time of its launch. The iPhone 14 and 14 Plus again have this fast chip. The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max will receive its successor. The A16 Bionic chip is smaller and even faster than its predecessor. It remains to be seen how much effect we will notice in practice.
