Stranger Things is extremely popular with viewers. Netflix has now revealed in detail how well the fourth season of the series has been received so far. It was enough for a real record, but seen worldwide, Stranger Things 4 still has to be content with second place.

On May 27th, 2022, the first seven of the nine episodes of the fourth season of Stranger Things were released, the rest could be seen from July 1st. So even though parts of the season have just started, Netflix has a few interesting details announced around the science fiction mystery series. As with the first three seasons, the fourth is also pretty well received by viewers.
If both season parts are added together, Stranger Things has for one Viewing time of 1.15 billion hours taken care of in the first 28 days. The first seven episodes racked up 930.32 million hours in the first 28 days, and episodes eight and nine accounted for just under 221 million hours — in less than a week, mind you (source: The Hollywood Reporters).
For an all-time record, the fourth season of Stranger Things still some work to do. Of all the Netflix originals, only Squid Game garnered even more interest with a staggering 1.65 billion hours in its first 28 days. Stranger Things now has about three weeks left for episodes eight and nine to break the record. It is quite possible that the series can actually overtake Squid Game.

Stranger Things 4 Makes Strongest Netflix Debut
The fourth season has already broken another Netflix record. According to the streaming provider, the season presented the best debut weekend ever. At the end of May, Stranger Things 4 took care of it in no time 286.79 million hours of viewing time. The previous record holder, Bridgerton season two, was relegated to second place with 193 million hours.
