A lot of people use Windows. And especially version 10 of the operating system for computers. Microsoft is currently developing Windows 11. When it is rolled out, Windows 10 will be phased out.

Microsoft ends support for Windows 10

The company has revealed when it will stop doing this. Microsoft will end support for the current operating system on October 14, 2025. Okay, so we still have a while. That means Microsoft expects the transition to the next version of Windows to take about four years.

The company quietly announced it in an update on one of its support pages. The Thurrott website noted this. Previously, the page mentioned when Microsoft would end support for certain versions of Windows 10. It now states that Microsoft started supporting Windows 10 Home and Pro on July 29, 2015. Next, the company reveals the operating system’s “retirement date.” The end of support timeline puts the Windows 10 lifecycle at nearly a decade, similar to previous versions of the operating system.

Windows 11

We don’t know if the next version of the operating system will actually be called Windows 11. There are indications that this will not be the case. It could just be called Windows Sun Valley. Or a completely different name that is not related to Windows. But what we do know is that a redesign is coming, with a new Windows Store. Furthermore, several functionalities of the canceled Windows 10X will come in the new version. Think of it easier to work with two screens.
