the console is not abandoned, planned launch in Europe in 2023
While Logitech’s FAQ suggested a premature end to the career of the G Cloud, the manufacturer’s latest portable console, the brand confirmed that it was not abandoned. On the contrary, its launch in Europe is maintained in 2023.

After the publication of our article, Logitech contacted the editorial staff of Phonandroid to assert its right of reply. The brand says it is still determined to launch the G Cloud in Europe in 2023, although for now the official date is not determined. In addition, it ensures that the machine will benefit from software monitoring over time. Note that it is no longer possible for the moment to access the answers to the frequently asked questions dedicated to the machine.

Remember, in September 2022, Logitech created a surprise at its Logi Play conference by unveiling the Logitech G Gloud Gaming Handled. Riding directly on the success of cloud gaming platforms such as Xbox Cloud Gaming or GeForce Now, this portable console offers an experience centered exclusively on cloud-hosted games.
To do this, it embeds three services directly preinstalled on the machine, such as Microsoft’s Xbox Cloud Gaming or Nvidia’s GeForce Now. If in any case, the proposal can be attractive at first sight, the G Cloud actually left with several handicapsstarting with a rather limited technical sheet.
A portable console with several handicaps
Indeed, the machine has a 7″ IPS LCD panel in Full HD with a refresh rate of only 60 Hz. As a result, subscribers to the RTX 3080 formula of GeForce Now cannot even take advantage of the 120 FPS authorized by their formula. But above all, one of the big problems with the G Cloud is the inability to connect to 4G/5G.
A shame for a mobile console, which for lack of SIM card slot, is intended only for home use Wi-Fi. The icing on the cake, the Logitech G Cloud does not even benefit from an advantageous price to stand out from competition. Presently offered at $399it therefore displays the same price as Valve’s Steam Deck, which offers many more possibilities.
An end of career already planned
In fact, it was difficult to envisage a brilliant career for the Logitech G Cloud. And unfortunately for her, it will indeed be short-lived. Indeed, our colleagues from Clubic have gone through the frequently asked questions dedicated to the console on the manufacturer’s website.
We can read there that Logitech will ensure the deployment of software updates for the OS of the G Cloud during the first 12 months following the launch. And after that, nothing. In other words, monitoring for the machine will stop in September 2023. After this date, the console will be vulnerable to the slightest security breach and potential cyberattacks… If you were waiting to get your hands on the G Cloud (the console is currently only available on US and Chinese territories), it must be recognized that the hypothesis of a launch in Europe is most improbable.
