The clubhouse has a new competitor, Spotify Greenroom
The Clubhouse application brought a new wind to the communications applications segment. Some time ago, it finally got on Android smartphones, but in the meantime, a large crowd of direct competitors is emerging.
Facebook, Twitter, Xiaomi came up with their submission to the former phenomenon, and the latest Spotify is also joining. The new product called Spotify Greenroom is used for voice communication between several users who are connected in the same room. The inspiration of the Clubhouse social network is indisputable and not accidental.
Also available for Slovakia
Spotify informs on its blog that the Spotify Greenroom application is available for iOS and Android platforms, and can be downloaded by users from 135 countries around the world. Slovakia is not missing among them, so you can try it too. It should be borne in mind that it is still in the pre-accession phase, so errors and various shortcomings may occur.
The application is aimed primarily at Spotify users, which means that they can log in to it with their existing accounts, through which they are used to listening to music. Chat rooms for live chat can be created, or you can join some of the already created options.
Spotify announces that it will pay due attention to the new platform and will improve it over time with new features. Spotify Greenroom is available for free. It is based on the older Locker Room application, which Spotify acquired in late March as part of the acquisition of Betty Labs.
It needs quality content
Whether the novelty on the market will succeed is, of course, still questionable. He definitely has a chance. Spotify is used by approximately 356 million people worldwide, and each of them can also use Greenhouse. Active, for content creation, or passive for its consumption.
It all depends on whether people find enough interesting and quality content. In the case of Spotify, this should not be too much of a problem. The company is known for not hesitating to invest in exclusive contracts. In addition, it is already drawing attention to the “Creator Fund” to support content creators.
