Bose Solo 5 for 154.99 euros on Amazon

the Bose Solo 5 Soundbar is on Amazon for 154.99 euros on offer. This is a considerable discount – because you should take into account that around 180 euros for this standalone model would be a real bargain. So the current price level is more than good. The offer is only valid for a short time and will take place during Black Friday week 2021 on Amazon.

Bose Solo 5: Our product assessment

It doesn’t matter what the TV manufacturers claim: the vast majority of flat screen TVs do not inherently offer good sound. If you want to experience the right atmosphere in a movie or simply want to better understand what is being said, you should definitely get an additional loudspeaker in the form of a soundbar.

The “Bose Solo 5 TV sound system” (that’s the full name) is part of the Entry-level class and is the smallest and cheapest model from the American audio manufacturer. The soundbar is powerful enough to spice up the TV sound. Thanks to its compact design, the Solo 5 is recommended as a loudspeaker for smaller TVs, for example in the bedroom. At Stiftung Warentest (Edition 10/2018) the Bose Solo 5 achieved a grade of 2.8 (“satisfactory”). The sound and the low power consumption did particularly well.

What you shouldn’t expect in the price league, however, are technical miracles. The limited volume of the Solo 5 cannot reproduce a bass earthquake. In addition, there is a lack of room sound effects (e.g. Dolby Atmos), HDMI and WLAN networking options (e.g. AirPlay 2). Such features are more likely to be found in higher price ranges (e.g. Bose Soundbar 700 or Sonos Arc). The Bose Solo 5 is a simple solution with a focus on stereo sound. However, the soundbar has a special feature to offer: it can be controlled via Bluetooth – a function that many more expensive representatives lack.
