The authors of Detroit are to work on Star Wars -apkrig
The French studio Quantic Dream, the authors of games such as Detroit: Become Human, Beyond: Two Souls and Heavy Rain, is supposed to sign a contract with Disney for the development of a title set in the world of Star Wars, according to the French youtuber nicknamed Gautoz. Insider Tom Henderson also commented on the information in a secretive way, sharing a collage on Twitter with Detroit artwork and a pair of lightsabers. If the collaboration does take place, everything will be in line with the new approach to licensing that Disney has chosen to offer to companies other than Electronic Arts. In recent years, EA and its studios have been able to exclusively use the rights to develop games placed in this universe, but this changed at the beginning of this year and with the announcement of new Star Wars by Ubisoft.
“They have signed a contract with Sony and will now sign a contract with Disney. It looks like they will be working on Star Wars, “Gautoz said with appeal to its resources in the stream. He did not provide any further information, however, due to the nature of this information, it seems that the possible development of a specific title would be just beginning. More specifically, in the concept phase, with whom people around designer David Cage could come to Disney, either on their own initiative or on demand. Just for context, we remind you that Detroit: Become Human is a game from 2018 and since then the studio has not announced the development of any other project. On the other hand, this does not mean that Quantic Dream has not worked on anything until now, and of course publishing activities, including Director’s Cut Sea of Solitude by Jo-Mei Games, cannot be left out. pro Nintendo Switch a chystaný Dustborn od Red Thread Games.
Guessing exactly what will come out of the Quantic Dream-Disney collaboration – if it really happens – would be premature at the moment, but we can’t put aside an interview with David Cage from February of this year for IGN magazine. The designer said that although he doesn’t change what he likes, that is, telling interactive stories, there are more ways to achieve the desired goal. “I’m interested in exploring new practices,” Cage said openly, suggesting that future degrees might have a slightly different structure than recent study degrees. We must not forget the fact that Quantic Dream operates from two places – Paris and Montreal – although, according to the latest statements, the branches are not understood as separate entities, but as cooperating cells. However, it would be possible to divide the development of the two, thus returning to the possible signing of a contract for the development of Star Wars, which could begin immediately.
Quantic Dream employs around 200 people in Paris alone, and the ambitions of the Montreal branch are not small. The investment of the Chinese company NetEase from 2019, which is to support the transformation of studies into a global developer of several projects and technologies being developed at the same time, also contributed to this, although the amount remains unknown even after two years.
