The author of Dead Space introduced a new sci-fi survival horror »Vortex

Lots of games were presented at The Game Awards. But some definitely deserve more attention than just a mention in our summary of the whole show. One of them is undoubtedly the new single-story sci-fi survival horror film The Callisto Protocol, presented by co-author of the Dead Space series Glen Schofield, who previously worked in the studios of Visceral Games or Sledgehammer Games.

The Callisto Protocol has been in development for a year and a half and involves over 100 people. They say they want to make the scariest game ever.

In the game, we will go to Jupiter’s moon called Callisto until 2320. According to the authors, it is a survival horror of a completely new generation. Our task will be to escape from the most secure prison here and reveal its terrifying secrets. It’s supposed to be a mixture of scare, action and a thrilling story. According to the developers, they want to move the bar for horror games a bit higher again.

A new Striking Distance studio is working on the game, which Glen Schofield composed of many veterans. This is the first game of the new team, which was formed under the wings of PUBG Corporation and its employees used to work not only on the Dead Space series, but also Call of Duty. The Callisto Protocol has been in development for a year and a half and involves over 100 people. They say they want to make the scariest game ever.

The unannounced title has long been referred to as “some story game from the world of PUBG” to expand its lore. And even though during the announcement of the game and the performance of the first trailer, it didn’t seem that sci-fi horror had anything to do with PUBG, it is said that there will really be some connection between the two titles. The novelty is allegedly set in the distant future of the same world. So we’ll see what that means.

The Callisto Protocol is due out in 2022 and is aimed at both PCs and consoles. There are no shots directly from the game available yet, but the cinematic trailer definitely lured us. What do you say to this news?
