Almost eight years ago, Samsung released the successor to the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini. The smartphone manufacturer then released the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini; a very compact version of the previously released Galaxy S4, which we will certainly come back to later in our section.

Despite the name being ‘S4 Mini’, it was certainly not a smaller variant of the Galaxy S4 that Samsung released in the same year. For example, various extras were missing. We saw this reflected in the Air Gestures, Multi-screen was not present with which you could open two screens and there was also a different processor, a different camera setup and a much smaller battery capacity. So you had to make compromises.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini was equipped with a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. Samsung equipped the phone with a Snapdragon 400 chipset from Qualcomm. This was a dual-core processor with a computing power of 1.7GHz. Furthermore, the phone offered 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of storage space. You could of course expand this memory with a memory card.

On the front, the smartphone was equipped with a 1.9 megapixel front camera. The Galaxy S4 Mini had an 8 megapixel camera on the back with an LED flash and an aperture of f / 2.6. This aperture number is now a lot lower with most smartphones. This has the advantage that you can also take good photos in less lit environments. The smartphone had everything on board; in addition to an FM radio, there was of course WiFi, an infrared port, Bluetooth, GPS and a Micro-USB connection. The battery capacity was 1900 mAh.
