The middle segment with smartphones has been further expanded in recent months with a lot of new models. DroidApp helps you again with giving advice. Because in the range of roughly 200 to 300 euros is there enough smartphone to buy? Incidentally, it is good to know that we have only included devices in this overview that run on Android 11, or will receive this update within a short time. That’s the least you can expect in this price range.

Oppo A74

We previously discussed the Oppo A74 in detail on DroidApp in the Oppo A74 review. The smartphone scores well in almost all areas. This did concern the 5G model; the 4G model differs slightly in terms of features. The 4G model offers a 6.43-inch AMOLED screen, triple camera and a Snapdragon 662 chipset. With the 5G model we see an IPS LCD 6.5 inch screen and a Snapdragon 480 chipset. There is also a quad camera and 5000 mAh battery. Both great devices. You can expect one Android update (Android 12) and three years of security updates.

Poco X3 Pro review

Poco X3 Pro

We have also already published the Poco X3 Pro review. This smartphone has clearly proven itself as a budget topper of the company. In terms of possibilities, it has everything in house. There’s a 6.67-inch Full-HD+ screen and a quad camera that does a great job. We also see a very powerful Snapdragon 860 chipset and 5160 mAh battery. On paper, this is the most comprehensive. Poco rolls out two Android updates for the device and four MIUI updates. In terms of security update, it is less clear, but for now it is sufficient.

Samsung Galaxy A32 5G

Samsung Galaxy A32

The Samsung Galaxy A32 is a friendly priced smartphone, where you get the 5G model for a few tens more. The 4G model has a 6.4 inch AMOLED screen, MediaTek Helio G80 chipset and quad camera with 64MP main lens. The 5G model offers a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with HD+ resolution, quad camera with 48MP main lens and MediaTek Dimensity 720 chipset. Just like with the Oppo A74, you make certain concessions if you want 5G.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro

Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro goes home for less than 300 euros. This device is equipped with the necessary things. Think of a Snapdragon 732G chipset, quad camera with 108 megapixel main camera and a 5020 mAh battery. All this happens on the 6.67-inch AMOLED screen that has a refresh rate of 120Hz and delivers a Full HD+ resolution. The update policy is the same as that of the Poco X3 Pro. This means two version updates and four MIUI updates.

Nokia X10

Nokia X10

With the Nokia X10 you have to pay nine euros extra, but then you have a nice smartphone. The device will be available from the first half of June. TCL 20L

TCL 20L and 20L+

TCL has recently started making progress in the Netherlands. Alcatel’s parent company released the TCL 20L series this month; the TCL 20L and 20L+. Both models are almost identical; there is only some difference in the camera and memory configuration. The 20L+ is the most extensive. There we see a Snapdragon 662 chipset, 6.67-inch Full-HD+ screen and a hefty 5000 mAh battery. There is also a quad camera with 64MP lens, no less than 256GB storage space and Android 11. The phone can expect security updates for two years, which are released every quarter. In terms of Android updates, we can expect Android 12.

Which one to choose?

Which smartphone to choose is mainly a personal choice. In any case, there is plenty to choose from. If you want the best camera, we would recommend the Poco, Xiaomi or Oppo. If you want the best update policy, choose the Nokia or the Galaxy A32 from Samsung. If you want to get everything out of the smartphone, we would choose the Poco or the Redmi Note 10 Pro. With its specs, the TCL 20L can certainly not be overlooked.
