Qualcomm presents four new Snapdragon chipsets for your new mid-end smartphone

Qualcomm is a well-known chip manufacturer, and the portfolio has now been expanded with four new chipsets. The processors will be placed in devices in the mid-end segment. In any case, Nokia, Oppo and Xiaomi would like to use the new chips.

Qualcomm’s Mid-End Chips

Four new chipsets are coming from Qualcomm. The company is announcing improved versions of chipsets that were previously announced. Three of the chipsets also give access to the 5G network, one only to 4G. The first devices with one of the new four chipsets are expected to be announced in the coming months, possibly this year. Xiaomi, Oppo and Nokia already have plans.

The Snapdragon 778+ is the first new one, which is the successor of the 778. We saw it recently in, for example, the Motorola Edge 20. The Snapdragon 480 that we have seen in a large number of devices, for example from Nokia, Motorola and OnePlus , will receive a successor in the form of the Snapdragon 480+. The WiFi 6 preparation has been removed from the two chipsets. Instead, there is Bluetooth 5.2 instead of 5.1.

The Snapdragon 680 is the new processor with 4G support, new is the Snapdragon 695 which is equipped with 5G support. If we come back to the manufacturers who are going to add chipsets, we will also find out a bit more. In any case, Oppo will use the Snapdragon 695. HMD Global wants to use the Snapdragon 480+ in Nokia’s and Xiaomi wants to release products with the Snapdragon 778G+ and 695. Honor, Motorola and Vivo are also said to have plans.
