The year 2022 is almost over and I too have been asked to make a list of my favorite apps over the past year. Who knows, there might be an interesting app for you or you know an app that I should definitely try. Feel free to let us know via a comment or send us an email! Curious about my apps from last year, read my article with must-have apps of 2021.

Telegram

Secretly, I like Telegram much more than WhatsApp, it has a more playful take on chats and you can make lots of different adjustments to it. In addition, you can follow channels on Telegram for news or developments. Of course we also have our own DroidApp channel on Telegram.

reddit app

Reddit

Killing time with cats who have a job (r/catswithjobs) or staying up to date with world news and following interesting discussions. It’s all possible in the Reddit app and that’s why it’s a frequently used app for me this year.

Discord

Discord

You can find this app in my lists for a few years now and that’s not surprising, it’s incredibly easy to get in touch with like-minded people. For example, I use Discord to keep abreast of developments in flight sim land, but also to talk to a group of enthusiastic radio amateurs all over the world. Be sure to take a look because there is bound to be a community that suits you.

Strava activities

Strava

It’s great to challenge yourself with a distance goal or just see what other athletes in the area are doing. This is possible with Strava, where you will find virtual challenges every month and you will find routes of other athletes. You also have comparison tools with which you can analyze your sporting performance over time. You can also view various clubs in your area and see whether they have organized a joint bicycle ride, for example.

NS Advantage app

NS

Millions of Dutch people travel by public transport almost every day, I am no exception to that. To keep up to date with the travel time, I use the NS app on working days. This way you can see exactly whether you can go to work by train today, or whether it is better to take the bike.

State of Survival

State of Survival

Of course that was five apps, but I don’t want to keep this game from you either. This game is all about building a base in a zombie-infested wilderness. In alliances you can compete for supremacy on a server, but also simply make friends and participate together in one of the many events organized by the game’s developer.
