We are moving more and more towards the winter months. Let’s take a quick look back at the events and the best apps of September. What did you miss?

The days are getting shorter again, but that doesn’t have to be at the expense of Android news. In September we again shared a lot of information with you. Hereby the monthly overview of September with the most important news and the best Android apps of this month.

What was in the news this month? In any case, that more and more Google apps have been updated with the Material You design, for which Gmail, which not everyone was happy with. Telegram stopped the Wear OS app and T-Mobile Netherlands was taken over. We also saw larger data bundles at T-Mobile. Furthermore, Germany argues for 7 years of updates for smartphones, which is considerably longer than what the EU wants. Xiaomi already came up with a new update policy for the newly announced Xiaomi 11T series.

There was also news about OxygenOS from OnePlus. The survival of this skin goes in a different direction. Oppo and OnePlus will work together and OxygenOS and ColorOS will be merged. Shocking news circulated about Xiaomi. Devices from the Chinese manufacturer would have censorship software. We now also know which 37 new emojis will be added next year. They also warn you about malicious DigiD text messages that are currently circulating.

There were several announcements. Fairphone came at the end of this month with the Fairphone 4. Oppo announced the Oppo Reno 6 series and Motorola announced the new Moto E20. As mentioned, Xiaomi presented the 11T models, but there was also the new Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE. Nokia presented the new Nokia G50 in the third week of the month.

Natural Monuments Route App

The Netherlands has many beautiful nature reserves to offer. Of course you can plan a route with Komoot, but another app that makes it a lot of fun is the Nature Route app from Natuurmonumenten. Not only for your walk, but also for cycling or in the canoe. At the routes you see information, the starting point and you get an impression.

Microsoft Start

A new application from Microsoft; Microsoft Launch. This application goes beyond just bringing news. You can directly start a search via the tabs, find information about Covid, convert units, access OneDrive and even find wallpapers for your smartphone. From another window you have the option to play a game in Microsoft’s app.

NS app

In the latest version of the NS app, users can see even better what can be found nearby. It concerns the option ‘Nearby’ that has been added in NS app 6.16.1. You can immediately see whether, for example, an OV-fiets can be picked up in the area. You will also immediately see the bus stop, a tram stop, metro station or other facilities in the app.

Nova Launcher

A completely new beta version of Nova Launcher was previously released for Android. Starting this month, Nova Launcher 7 is available for everyone to download from the Google Play Store. Telegram

Telegram 8.0.1 was released as an update in the Google Play Store at the end of this month.
