Tesla’s design manager attacks Apple products: “there is nothing to wait for”

Apple does not really innovate in terms of the design of its products if we stick to the words of Franz von Holzhausen, the design manager at Tesla. According to him, the iPhone maker is idling.

A tackle from Tesla on the design of Apple products

“The sad thing about Apple products now is that there’s nothing to wait for”said the head of design at Tesla during an interview with Spike Feresten. “I feel like it’s just a continuation. It’s just a slight refinement of the same thing. Inspiration-wise, it’s hard to be super motivated by what they do.”he added.

He also stated that he “hate to say it” but he wears an apple watch “just for the fitness side. Otherwise, I didn’t really find any use for it, apart from the fitness aspect”.

Franz von Holzhausen has worked at Tesla since 2008. He has been responsible for the design of the Tesla Model S, Model 3, Model X, Model Y, as well as the Cybertruck which has been announced but is not yet available. Before Tesla, he was design manager at Mazda.

This attack on Apple shows once again that the two groups have conflicts. There have been several attacks over the years (mostly from Tesla). The latest was Elon Musk, the boss of the automaker, who made fun of Apple’s 25-euro cloth.
