Tesla comes with a pretty bizarre option

The car company Tesla comes with a new option for their cars. However, this one is both hilarious and bizarre.

It is very popular in China and other Eastern countries. You see it everywhere, in bars or just at people’s homes: karaoke. More than 50,000 dancing and singing venues can be found in the enormous country. For people who can’t get enough of it, the car manufacturer comes up with a solution. Tesla now supplies a new accessory: a microphone for in-car karaoke. The TeslaMic is currently only available in China (logical).

Tesla option

The company introduced it during the rollout of a software update for the Chinese New Year, which adds a karaoke platform called Leishi KTV to infotainment systems. The infotainment system is automatically linked to the microphone. You always get two, so you can enjoy a few songs with your partner with the TeslaMic.

We can see more on Weibo. The video is mirrored for YouTube so we can all see it. You see the TeslaMic in action. As the website Elektrek points out, by using the Leishi KTV interface and catalog, Tesla is building on a “Karaoke” feature it introduced in 2019. However, with a more limited selection of songs. The price tag is about 180 euros. It is not expected that the new equipment will become available in the Netherlands soon.

Are you a big karaoke fan? There’s an official Carpool Karaoke microphone that you can plug into your car’s audio system, but you’ll need to provide your own backing tracks and a lyrics display. Still a bit clumsy.
