Tesla advertises 150 jobs

Tesla has presented a recruiting website through which interested parties can apply for vacancies in the Gigafactory in Grünheide. What requirements does Tesla have of its applicants?

“I’m a little worried that we won’t be able to hire enough people,” said Elon Musk on October 9th on the stage of his Gigafactory in Grünheide. The Tesla boss’s concern is not unfounded. Production in Grünheide, where both the Model Y and batteries will be built and around 12,000 people are to be employed in the future, is due to start as early as December. So Tesla urgently needs employees: inside.

In any case, there are plenty of job offers. A total of 145 jobs are advertised in production. Interested parties now have the opportunity to register officially on the Tesla website apply via an online form. So far, however, it is unclear how many employees are to be filled in the respective positions.

The areas in which Tesla has advertised positions on its website are varied. Most offers are in the areas of manufacturing, construction and engineering. The electric car manufacturer is also looking for employees in human resources, design, finance and logistics. There, however, the range of positions is a little less extensive. Nevertheless, the probability is high that there is a suitable advertisement for interested parties. Internships are also planned in the areas of logistics and engineering.

Contrary to what was initially assumed, knowledge of English is required, but is not a mandatory requirement in every case. However, some job advertisements are formulated in English. It can be assumed here that very good knowledge of English is required. However, since Tesla is setting up its teams internationally and communication is currently mainly in English on the Gigafactory site, it is certainly helpful to have English skills regardless of the position sought.

Finally, Tesla makes it clear that every potential prospect should apply and that the application process is less about fulfilling every point of the job advertisement. Identification with the company is at least as important.

As usual, specific information on salaries is not given in the job advertisements currently advertised. According to the head of the employment agency in Frankfurt (Oder) I am offering Tesla as an entry-level wage including shift allowance in the lowest wage level, however, gross of 2,700 euros. For employees who have completed their vocational training, the starting salary starts at around 3,500 euros.
