Telegram 9.5 brings power savings, playback speed improvements and more

A nice update is being rolled out to Telegram. The new update to version 9.5 brings a power saving mode, improvements to read receipts and playback speed, and more. What else does Telegram 9.5 have to offer?

Telegram rolls out a new update where, as so often, it expands the application with several new features and options. First of all, the developers have been working on a power saving mode. This disables the effects and animations to save battery life, and also improve performance on older devices.

Energy saving

You can choose to activate the power saving mode automatically at a certain battery level in the Telegram settings. You can also accurately set which effects should be switched off, or which you would like to have active. According to Telegram, the feature has been tested on 200 different types of Android devices, ensuring users get the best experience.

Playback speed

Another feature that is new is to specifically set the playback speed for videos, voice messages and video messages. When you hold down the ‘2x’ button, you can choose any speed between 0.2x and 2.5x. For videos, you can adjust it by tapping the three dots and moving the slider.

Other improvements

Telegram 9.5 includes even more improvements. In groups with less than 100 members, users can see at what time a post of yours has been viewed by others. You can also invite multiple people more quickly via a link for a group. You can also now adjust the settings to disable the dynamic sticker order with last used, there are new animated emojis for Premium users and there are also new interactive emoji for reactions.
