Take-Two buys Zynga for 273 billion crowns -apkrig

Take-Two, which has in its portfolio series such as Grand Theft Auto, Borderlands, BioShock, Civilization, XCOM or sports titles published under the 2K Sports label, has announced the acquisition of Zynga, a hegemon in the field of mobile gaming. The amount for which Take-Two acquired brands such as FarmVille or Words With Friends, of course together with more than 2,000 employees, is hard to believe $ 12.7 billion, which is more than 270 billion crowns and is also a record amount from the segment computer or mobile games, surpassing not only Microsoft’s acquisition of ZeniMax ($ 7.5 billion) but also Tencnet’s acquisition of SuperCell ($ 8.6 billion). Even in this case, however, it is a combined transaction, where part is paid by Take-Two in cash and part in shares.

The press release states that this is a transformational connection that will make Take-Two Interactive one of the largest and most diverse mobile game publishers on the market. “We are excited to announce the acquisition of Zynga, which is significantly diversifying our business and consolidating our leadership position in the mobile industry,” said Take-Two. CEO Strauss Zelnick argues that it combines the best console and computer series with a powerful mobile gaming publishing platform that can benefit from a rich history of innovation and creativity. “Zynga has a very talented and experienced team, so we look forward to welcoming them to our family in the coming months,” adds Zelnick. Given the amount he will pay for Zyngu, it is clear that the merger firmly believes and is already talking about investment, cost pooling and high incomes.

We are incredibly excited to find a partner at Take-Two who shares our commitment to investing in our players, fostering creative cultures and creating greater shareholder value, ”said Zyngy CEO Frank Gibeau.

“The acquisition will enable the company to further develop its mission of connecting the world through gaming while achieving significant growth and other synergies,” said Frank Gibeau, CEO of Zyngy, who previously served as Electronic Arts Manager. “We are incredibly excited to find a partner at Take-Two who shares our commitment to investing in our players, fostering creative cultures and creating greater shareholder value,” added Gibeau. He also speaks in superlatives, suggesting that Zynga is embarking on a whole new journey and promising even better games not only for existing audiences, but also for new players who, thanks to Take-Two, will find their way to Zynga’s games, according to the general manager.

Given the strength of Zynga, it’s not too surprising that after the acquisition is completed, the entire Take-Two mobile division – T2 Mobile Games – will fall under it, but it will retain its identity and continue to act on its own. But whatever happens with the relevant Take-Two mobile branches, the company already expects that in the fiscal year 2023, revenues from the mobile segment will amount to more than 50 percent of the total amount, instead of the current estimate for the current financial period, which is only 12 percent. It is very good to demonstrate how significantly the image of Take-Two and their games can change, but on the other hand, it does not automatically mean a mobile version of all the famous brands that started on consoles or computers.
