Take a look at the first example of Dan Vávra’s dubbing in KCD -apkrig

In probably the last vidcast this year, which you will be able to watch during tomorrow, we are talking to the authors of the Czech dubbing Kingdom Come: Deliverance. What began in Arthur Komňacký’s head due to the circumstances surrounding the coronavirus pandemic as a fan project, whose interest was to supplement the “at least” cut scenes, has grown in recent months to work on full-fledged dubbing for the entire game. Just about its origin, the current state of filming, resp. implementation, launch on the console and release date, we talked not only with Artur Komňacký, but also with Mark Pilger, who is also a necessary part of the whole initiative, when he processes the recordings of individual actors directly in the sound studio.

But as you already know from our news, not only professional actors but also avid fans, the authors of the project themselves and, last but not least, the developers from Warhorse take part in the dubbing for Kingdom Come. It’s no secret that creative director Daniel Vávra is among them – after all, fans could watch a few short videos directly from the dubbing on Facebook of the whole project – but thanks to the dubbing authors we bring you the very first example of Dan’s dubbing set directly on the scene from games.

Just for the record, Vávra plays the character of Hanuš of Lipá, which also makes sense because he lent his form to the Czech nobleman in the play. Although in dubbed the movie Hanuš spoke in the voice of Tomáš Čížek, the authors agreed with the game designer at a time when they were raising money from the fans for the project. And it must be acknowledged that after convincing demonstrations from the studio, Dan showed his acting talent and “his” Hanuš looks very natural, even with the help of appropriate effects. In addition, as you probably expect, Hanuš is not exactly a person who would deal with others in gloves and suffer from a flower talk, so the swear words known from the beginning of the game receive even greater grades in the later stages. Of course, you can judge the rest yourself and look forward to more samples that people around Komňacký and Pilger will continue to broadcast on their YouTube channel.

As for the recorded interview, we discussed not only the very beginning of the project, but also the individual details about the actual shooting, the complexity of the implementation and, of course, there were also funny stories. One of them also includes the actor Jan Přeučil, who also participates in the dubbing and plays the role of narrator of the whole game, according to Arthur and Mark, you definitely have something to look forward to.
