Summary of the event Realms Deep 2021 -apkrig

If you love shooting games and retro games in general, the Realms Deep 2021 event presented by 3D Realms certainly couldn’t escape you. And if by chance yes, we have prepared for you an excerpt of some interesting things that were presented at the second year of this show. And because there has been a lot of correction to be seen, this time our summary will focus mainly on first-person shooters and videos from individual titles. In addition, don’t forget that in addition to various lectures and presentations, the event is also accompanied by discounts on individual participating titles.

Apex

Of course, we can’t start with anything other than the promising Czech retro FPS Hrot. At the Realms Deep 2021 event, its author Spytihněv presented a sample from a new episode he is currently working on. More details about Hrot, including the recent first level stream of the new episode, can be found in our archive.

PowerSlave Exhumed

Nightdive Studios has announced another remaster. The port with the help of KEX Engine technology is to pull out the best of the versions for PlayStation and Saturn. We will go to Egypt again, but in HD graphics and with the support of widescreen monitors. The authors promise SMAA antialiasing, anisotropic texture filtering, achievements and higher framerate.

Cultic

A new Cultic retro shooter inspired by the cult Blood was announced directly at the Realms Deep 2021 event. The main character climbs out of the grave in style again. The Jason Smith game released directly by 3D Realms promises old-school gameplay, but with the benefits of modern technology such as physics, lighting or a fully 3D world. In addition, you can try Cultic straight away, as it has a playable demo on Steam.

Compound Fracture

If you like dinosaurs and you remember the Dino Crisis series with a tear in your eye, be sure to watch Compound Fracture. This is a first person action survival horror, whose authors want to approach the aesthetics of games for the first PlayStation in graphics. See our older article for more details on the title.

To dig

Fantasy Graven from Slipgate Ironworks is tempted to update the early access version, which is available from May this year. It promises, for example, cooperation or upgrade of weapons. We have already written and informed about this game in videos.

Core Decay

The new video also featured System Shock and Deus Exem-inspired Core Decay by Ivar Hill. The cyberpunk dystopic action looks very promising, so watch it closely. The demo is due out at the end of the year. You can read more about Core Decay in our recent article.

Ion Fury Aftershock

The new video from the Aftershock extension for the Ion Fury event invites you to pre-order a big box, but in a short clip, of course, there will also be a few shots straight from the game. In the end, the expansion will not be released this year, as the authors originally planned, but only at the beginning of next year on the PC and the console. Meanwhile, gamers can look forward to Update 2.0 for the original game, which will bring better gamepad support, better community features, and a balance of weapons. Details about Ion Fury can be found in our archive.

Combustion

An action RPG set in the diesel punk world of Combustion was also presented at the event. It is inhabited by talking animals. The game should be released next year.

Sprawl

According to the authors, this FPS was more inspired by the Eastern interpretation of cyberpunk aesthetics. It’s supposed to be a hardcore action set in a futuristic megapolis, where the streets are said to become your playground. You can even slow down time. The game will be released next year on PC and console.

Neon Beasts

How about a trip to Miami like in the eighties? The authors of Neon Beasts promise crazy action, fast gameplay, bizarre characters and a lot of violence in the light of neon lights. The main character is a killer named Beast. The title will be released next year on PC and console.

WHEN

The KUR retro event from Really Ragdoll entered early access with the Realms Deep 2021 event. It promises 23 levels across three acts and a complete campaign. It’s supposed to be a humorous FPS

Forgive Me Father

Forgive Me Father is a dark horror retro comic book-style FPS inspired by Lovecraft. It will enter early access in October this year. It offers two unique heroes – a priest and a journalist – and, of course, there is also an indicator of sanity influencing the form of the whole game.

Hyperviolent

Hyperviolent is supposed to be a brutal and fast old-school event that will be released early next year. In sci-fi at the mining colony, we will enjoy single and multiplayer, and obviously we will also have passages in the style of the famous Descent.
