Steven Spielberg shows how it really should be

You may know that you can film with your iPhone, but Steven Spielberg shows you how it really should be done. He filmed a new music video in one shot.

Read on after the ad.

Filming with an iPhone

On Sunday, July 3, Steven Spielberg filmed a music video. That doesn’t sound very special in itself, but that he did it with an iPhone (and that in a single take) is special. So the video was not cut and he shot the whole video. Watch the final video below!

Steven Spielberg made the video for Marcus Mumford, who you may know from the band Mumford & Sons (and the hit song ‘Little Lion Man’). When you watch the video you can see that the image is quite stable. That is not very strange, because more recent iPhones have good image stabilization with which you can film well.

Steven Spielberg also used a black and white filter for the video. It is not known whether he used the iPhone’s ‘Noir’ filter for this, or whether the effect was added afterwards.

On the twitter pics of Marcus Mumford you see the famous film director being wheeled around a gym on an office chair. Kate Capshaw (Steven Spielberg’s wife) was behind the chair and also took over the job as producer.

Incidentally, it is not the first music video shot with an iPhone. In 2020, an iPhone 11 Pro was used to film Lady Gaga’s song ‘Stupid Love’. Unfortunately, we don’t know which iPhone Steven Spielberg had in his hands before the video. He does show that you don’t need an expensive video camera to make a good video.
