Starting today, Lidl is selling a cheap Android tablet that you have to look at carefully
If you’re currently looking for a new Android tablet, you might have stumbled across Lidl’s offer, which is valid from July 7, 2022. From then on, a Huawei tablet will be sold at a reasonable price. Basically, that would be a good deal if there wasn’t one big sticking point.
Lidl sells Huawei tablet without Google services
When discounters like Lidl or Aldi sell Android tablets, they are usually very good deals. This is also the case with the Huawei MatePad T 10s at Lidl will be sold from July 7, 2022 at a price of only 129 euros. Here you get 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. This is a rarity for the price. Incidentally, you can already strike in the online shop (look at Lidl). You can save on shipping costs by subscribing to the newsletter. But you should note an important detail: This Android tablet comes without Google services and apps. If, on the other hand, you don’t want any Google services, then the offer is of course perfect for you.
Namely, you might now believe that a Huawei Android tablet comes with Google services and apps, because Huawei also sells HarmonyOS tablets, which obviously come without Google services. But that is not the case with this offer. That Huawei MatePad T 10s comes with Android, but without Google services and apps. Accordingly, you cannot use all apps and are restricted in many services.
With HarmonyOS, things would be a lot clearer:
What alternatives are there to the Android tablet at Lidl?
If you want it to be similarly cheap, then only the Lenovo Tab M10 HD (2nd Gen) comes into question. This costs at Amazon currently only 116 euros (view at Amazon). As mentioned above, the equipment here is a bit worse. You only get 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. If you want an Android tablet that you can use without any problems over the next few years and that also receives software updates, then you have to put a little more on the table for the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8. The Android tablet costs 169 euros (view at Amazon). Both tablets have full access to Google apps and services.
