Being a mom is great fun, but it can also be extremely exhausting. And fatigue makes for short fuses. Logical. But when you exercise, your body produces endorphins and serotonin. We also call these happiness hormones: they make you feel relaxed and happy. That does not mean that you are beaming with happiness in the gym or running through the park: the mental boost often comes afterwards. After a well-deserved shower, you feel proud of the effort you have put in. Rightly so.

2 Good for your body

An open door, but still: exercise is good for your body. Your weight comes or stays at the right level, it is good for your condition and blood pressure and increases your resistance. You really don’t have to train for a half marathon right away. Moving is also: a bit of cycling or a nice walk. Preferably half an hour every day, but at least 2.5 hours a week. That is the Dutch Standard for Healthy Exercise for adults.

3 Condition

This is not surprising either: exercise improves your condition. That’s because your heart rate increases, your breathing speeds up, and your circulation improves. In short: you put your body to work and that therefore provides health benefits.

4 Sleep better

Those few hours that you are in bed as a mother, you better sleep well. By moving, you fall asleep faster and you sleep more deeply. It’s like this: by exercising, you clear your head and go to bed relaxed. And because of the effort during the day, your body relaxes better at night and that ensures that deeper sleep.

5 Conviviality

Do you still dread going for a walk, cycle, jog, swim or boot camp? Then join a sports club or gather some friends. By agreeing to exercise, you all have a stick behind the door. Moreover, it is immediately a lot more fun to get moving together.

“I’m a fan! This is the first stroller that I can easily run behind. It is super light and rolls forward easily. The push bar is adjustable in height, which is handy. With a special belt that you put around your waist, you can pull the car very smoothly behind you. The car is not super manoeuvrable, I can’t just make a sharp turn. But I don’t have to do much to get it moving and I can also easily do exercises like lunches and squats while wearing the band.

The sporty look of the Cybex Zeno also appeals to me. I immediately feel like taking action. The container of the Cybex Zeno is suitable from 6 months up to a child of 22 kilos. My 4 year old daughter still fits in it easily. She is not bouncing in it, the box is really stable. With the hood closed it is a kind of tent, super cozy. A friend of mine also tried this stroller and her toddler slept great in it. In addition to your child, there is still enough space in the box for a bag with picnic items or groceries. Just loading it in your trunk is more difficult, because of its size. Fortunately, the wheels can easily come off. I haven’t tried it myself yet, but you can also hang this car behind your bike. And you can even ski or cross-country ski with it, although it seems to me a challenge to get the whole colossus onto the slopes.”
