Sony Xperia 10 III will bring the same design as the previous generation

Sony Xperia 10 II was one of the small mid-range smartphones last year that resembled premium models in its design. According to the portal XDA-developers the manufacturer decided to keep this proven design for its upcoming successor Sony Xperia 10 III.

Again without cutouts and holes for a selfie camera

This is confirmed by leaked pictures of the device, which was published by Steve Hemmerstoffer on the social service Voice. The body of the smartphone should again be made entirely of tempered glass with a straight shiny back and slightly rounded edges. The pictures also confirm the black color variant. The camera will still be located in the upper left corner of the back. It will again offer three sensors, which will be arranged in a vertical position under the LED flash. It is equipped with a 12-megapixel main sensor and two 8-megapixel sensors – telephoto and ultra-wide.

The bottom of the device includes a USB-C connector and the top a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The control buttons are on the right side together with the fingerprint sensor. Sony thus continues to reject its placement directly on the display, as the competition does. At the same time, it still refuses to deform the display through a cutout or hole for a selfie camera. It will be located above the display in a narrow top bar and should have 8 megapixels. The display will be flat with a diagonal of 6 inches. The dimensions of the planned novelty should be 154.4 x 68.4 x 8.3 millimeters.

The smartphone will probably be waterproof again

It is very likely that the Sony Xperia 10 III will offer a premium feature that previous generations have offered. It should be water resistant to IP68 certification. Thanks to it, this series of smartphones is unique among middle-class devices. Most competing manufacturers offer increased water resistance in more expensive high-end models. IP68 certification guarantees resistance to water penetration to a depth of 1.5 meters for 30 minutes in laboratory conditions.

This does not mean that you can normally swim in the pool or in the sea with your smartphone. Sony states directly in the warranty conditions that the protection only applies to pure water, not chlorine or salt water.
