Anyone who sees lifeguards in red bathing suits and swimming trunks immediately thinks of Pamela Anderson and David Hasselhoff. In their roles as Mitch Buchannon (Hasselhoff) and Casey Jean “CJ” Parker (Anderson), they shaped the television landscape worldwide in the 90s. Today, the pair are still directly associated with the hit series Baywatch, which made its way onto the screens of a new generation in 2017 through a film starring Dwayne ‘the Rock’ Johnson. In the following, we will show you how you don’t miss anything and watch all Baywatch seasons and films in the correct order.

“Baywatch” – the order of the cult series

When the first episode “Baywatch” aired on NBC in 1989, no one could have guessed the tremendous success it would bring – especially since the first episode flopped and the series only continued because David Hasselhoff produced it himself with his production company. Despite these initial difficulties, eleven seasons with a total of 243 episodes were released over the next 12 years. The first nine seasons of the 198-episode cult series are set in Malibu, while the final two seasons were initially set to continue in Australia as Baywatch Down Under, but were filmed in Hawaii instead.

“Baywatch” as a movie

Two years after the last episode of the series aired on television, a graduation film followed in 2003, in which almost all the important actors* came together again. Although this is intended to connect with the plot of the series, it contains some inconsistencies as characters appear in the film regardless of their history within the series. 2017 drew “Baywatch‘ brought a whole new generation to theaters and brought lifeguards back to screens with a new cast and guest appearances from iconic characters. Unfortunately there will be no sequel to this one. For a better overview, we have put together a list with the order of all series and films for you.
