Smartphone on Slimming
The Sony Xperia XZ4 will visually differ significantly from its predecessor Xperia XZ3. Especially the new 21: 9 display will cause a stir. A first comparison with the iPhone XS Max shows that narrow and long the smartphone will really look.
Sony Xperia XZ4 with 21: 9 Display: Long and Narrow
Sony has searched for the Xperia XZ4 a unique selling point – and found. As the first smartphone manufacturer ever installed the Japanese company in the upcoming flagship, a 21: 9 display. Although Samsung, Huawei and Apple have recently equipped their smartphones with longer aspect ratios of about 19: 9, Sony drives the oblong aspect ratio but on the top. The aspect ratio of 21: 9 is better known from PC monitors or from the cinema. The following video demonstrates what a movie would look like on the Xperia XZ4:
It will be on the Sony Xperia XZ4 so movies or general video content in 21: 9 format without black bars can see. Presumably we can then film the smartphone with the new triple camera videos in 21: 9 format. But how does this aspect ratio affect the look of the smartphone?
Sony Xperia XZ4 and iPhone XS Max compared
In the picture above you can see the protective glass for the Samsung Galaxy S10, the Galaxy S10 Plus, the Sony Xperia XZ4 and the iPhone XS Max. The Sony smartphone gets extreme with its 6.5-inch display with a 21: 9 aspect ratio narrow. Both the Galaxy S10 (Plus) and the largest iPhone are very wide. Sony also dispenses with a notch or hole in the display. Instead, the frame on the top is quite large. The underside, on the other hand, is almost as thin as the Galaxy S10.
Sony Xperia XZ4: The Road to Success?
Technically, the Sony Xperia XZ4 will make no compromises and optically set new accents. That could work and appeal to new customers. The only important thing is that the expected triple camera does not fail. Then the Xperia XZ4 could compete with the Galaxy S10 and Huawei P30 Pro.
