Small number of iPhone 13 users suffer from pink screen and freezes

The screens of a small number of iPhone 13 smartphones turn bright pink. How this is possible is not yet known, but we will tell you how to solve it.

Read on after the ad.

New issue: Some iPhone 13 screens turn pink

A small number of users are experiencing an annoying issue with the iPhone 13 (Mini) or iPhone 13 Pro (Max). The smartphones freeze and the screen turns bright pink. The reason for the problem is unknown, but luckily there is a solution – although it is anything but fun. Resetting all settings would fix the problem. Also, some users exchange affected iPhones at Apple for a replacement one.

Fortunately, the problem seems to be software related. That writes Apple Insider, based on photos showing the problem. “If the problem were hardware-related, the entire screen would be pink. That is not the case – the battery icon and the signal icon remain white in most cases. This indicates a software problem, which in theory can be solved with an update.”

Restore Stuck iPhone to Factory Settings

The advice is to always update to the latest iOS version as soon as it is available. Do you suffer from a pink screen on your iPhone 13 or 13 Pro? Try resetting it to factory settings. This works like this:

  1. Open the Finder (macOS Monterey or newer) or open iTunes (macOS Mojave or earlier).
  2. Connect your iPhone to the computer.
  3. Activate recovery mode. To do this, briefly press the volume up button and briefly press the volume down button. Then press and hold the side button until you see recovery mode.
  4. Find the device on your computer and select it.
  5. Then a pop-up should appear. Choose the ‘Update’ option when you see this.
  6. Does not it work? Then try step 3 again.
  7. After the restore, reconfigure the device.

It is of course very annoying to lose all your data. Always keep a backup of your device on hand. Watch the video below to learn how, or read our tip on how to back up your iPhone.
