Samsung will sell 73.7 million smartphones in Q1 2022

Research firm Canalys has released figures on smartphone sales for the first quarter of 2022. Samsung has done good business, with the brand once again in first place in smartphone sales.

Once again, Samsung has done good business selling smartphones. Figures on this were published in a report by Canalys, a research firm that has looked at global smartphone sales. Samsung is still in first place with its Galaxy devices. The phone manufacturer sold 73.7 million smartphones in the first three months of 2022, up four percent less than last year. With this, the brand managed to achieve a 24 percent market share worldwide.

In total, 311.2 million smartphones were sold, which is 11 percent less than in the first three months of 2021. Apple is in second place with 56.5 million devices sold (+8 percent compared to last year). This is 18 percent market share. The next spot is for Xiaomi (39.2 million smartphones) and 13 percent market share, but with this number of smartphones sold, Xiaomi sees a 20 percent decrease. Oppo is in fourth place with 29.0 million smartphones sold, a drop of 27 percent. The sales of OnePlus are also included in Oppo’s figures. Vivo is in fifth place globally and saw its share fall by 30 percent.
