Sweden is not only a popular holiday destination for winter sports, Sweden also has plenty to offer for the summer holidays. Sweden is the fourth most sparsely populated country in Europe. Although Sweden is a member of the European Union, they pay in this Scandinavian country with the Swedish Krona. TripAdvisor
TripAdvisor is an indispensable application for many vacation areas. Likewise for Sweden. In the application you will find many sights, restaurants and hotels. If you wish, you can also buy tickets for performances or tours, although given the price it is certainly advisable to take a look at the provider itself ;-). The texts are supplemented with reviews and photos. You can also share photos via the platform and leave reviews.
Google Maps
Actually, Google Maps is an ideal tool for every journey. Your holiday to Sweden is no different. You can find a gas station nearby and the opening times of the supermarket via the application. Handy, because you won’t find gas stations everywhere and supermarkets usually have different opening hours than with us in the Netherlands. Of course you will also find reviews, sights and much more. Of course you can also navigate. What is recommended before going abroad; save (part of) the map of Sweden offline, saves data abroad again. At the petrol stations in Sweden you often also see the fuel price in Google Maps, which can be useful to save some money.

Think of hiking trails, seaside resorts and bird towers. A mountain map can also be found in the application. The app works in a large number of municipalities.
learn Swedish
If you have not yet fully mastered the Swedish language, the Learn Swedish 6000 words app is a handy tool. You can learn the Swedish language spread over 15 topics which are further divided into 140 subtopics. If you already speak English well, we can recommend Duolingo, which will help you in a calm way. If you still can’t quite figure it out, there’s always Google Translate.

xCurrency Mini
Because they pay with the Swedish Krona in Sweden, the xCurrency Mini app is a handy app that allows you to quickly calculate the exchange rate. xCurrency shows the current exchange rate of the Swedish Krona (SEK), the Euro and many other currencies. You can also read in a graph how the position was a certain period ago. If you cross the border to Norway for a day, no problem. The application bundles all foreign currencies in one overview, including the NOK of Norway.
Komoot
Komoot shows you exactly where to find the mountain peaks, nature reserves and other places of interest. You will also find the various walking and cycling routes in the app. In addition, you will also find photos and an accompanying text for most things. EasyPark
Are you going to a bigger town or Swedish city? Then you cannot avoid paying parking. It is good to know that there are parking garages in various cities where you have to pay with an app. This is an application that can also be used in the Netherlands for parking actions; Easy Park. The application lets you pay for your parking transaction as long as you stand, so you don’t pay too much. In the app you can easily add your license plate number and link your payment method, so that all you have to do is start the parking action.
ViewRanger
The ViewRanger app gives you access to walking routes, cycling routes and much more. You can follow the routes using GPS. You can also keep track of your own route and share routes. If you have an Android Wear smartwatch, ViewRanger also has the handy Wear OS support where you get directions on your watch.
Curious about the fuel price at the Swedish pump? You can go to the FuelFinder app, an application that shows you as best as possible the current fuel price of a liter of petrol or diesel at filling stations in your area. If the price is not correct, you can change it manually. You can also add gas stations as favorites to quickly find them, and you can open the directions in Google Maps.
