Samsung sees a sharp rise in sales of foldables in the Netherlands

Sales of foldable smartphones in the Netherlands are much higher than expected. Many more times these types of devices were sold in the Netherlands, reports Samsung. That brand released the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Galaxy Z Flip 3 last year.

Higher sales of foldables

Slowly but surely, a growing group of consumers is becoming enthusiastic about foldable smartphones. Samsung has shared some more information about the sales of foldable smartphones in the Netherlands. According to the South Korean manufacturer, the expectations of this have been exceeded by far. According to experts, the number of foldable phones sold in 2023 will be even higher; a tenfold increase of what is currently sold is expected.

While Samsung doesn’t share exact numbers — Samsung never does — it does share some other numbers. According to Samsung, 5.6 times more foldable smartphones were sold in 2021 than in 2020. These are figures specific to the Netherlands. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Galaxy Z Flip 3 sold 4x more devices worldwide than all of Samsung’s foldables combined in 2020. Research shows that people mainly switch to a foldable device for the stylish design, portability and an innovative, new shape. In the coming years, more models and brands will release a foldable smartphone. Samsung has already shown several concepts at CES.
