Samsung rolls out latest Android security update
The Galaxy S8 and S8 + receive a new surprise update. A few months after the end of the software support promised by Samsung, a new version of the firmware including the Android security patch of November 2021 appeared on smartphones in France. We explain how to install it on your phone.
The Galaxy S8 and S8 +, Samsung’s old flagships, were officially declared obsolete last May. Four years after their arrival in stores, the two smartphones have indeed reached at the end of the software support promised by the South Korean brand. The Galaxy S8 should therefore, theoretically, no longer receive updates.
However, Samsung has decided to keep both phones up to date for a few more months. In July 2021, the Seoul giant rolled out an update titled G95xFXXUCDUE to all units still in circulation around the world. The firmware then offered the May 2021 Android security patch but obviously did not offer any new functionality.
