The phone manufacturer Samsung may come up with its own cases and these are called Fashion Skins.
The market for smartphone cases is huge. Almost everyone with a smartphone has one. That is why it is very attractive for manufacturers to also enter that market. A new trademark application from Samsung in the UK suggests the company may be working on fashionable skins for its phones.
Samsung comes with its own cases
This has been reported by Android Headlines and Let’s Go Digital, among others. The UK Intellectual Property Office application describes “protective and decorative films adapted for smartphones”, with the name “Fashion Film”.
This does not confirm that a real product will follow. These kinds of applications are submitted a lot and with the vast majority nothing is done. Still, any sign that the company is making a move to enter the case accessories market is noteworthy. Currently, smaller companies control this market. Products from these companies are even displayed in Samsung stores.
So it seems to have a protective function. But they can also be cool alternatives for anyone who would like to change their phone in terms of looks.

You can already see the trend in tackling the look of your device. Samsung announced Bespoke Edition smartphones for its Galaxy Z Flip 3 in October, which also allows owners to change the color of their phone with a small range of color choices for some money. Dieter Bohn argued that Samsung is promoting the Galaxy Z Flip 3 as a stylish choice, rather than emphasizing powerful specs.
