Samsung makes Android tablets much better with major software update
Samsung not only supplies its Android smartphones with regular software updates, but also its tablets. Now the South Korean company has released a major update that isn’t Android 13, but it’s still very important.
Samsung tablets get Android 12L
Some time ago, Google officially introduced Android 12L for devices equipped with a larger display. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is the first Samsung device to ship with this version of Android and benefits greatly from the optimizations. For example, there is a taskbar that takes multitasking to a new level. There are still many customizations that will benefit large displays on Android. And exactly this Android 12L update is now also being distributed for the Galaxy Tab S8 tablets (Source: SamMobile).
The August update for the Galaxy Tab S8 tablets is now being rolled out in Germany, which not only brings the monthly update with it, but also integrates the new Android 12L version with One UI 4.1.1 with over 2 GB. The update description focuses on the improvements in multitasking. So you can switch between apps or multitask faster, open two apps directly at the same time, start apps in the pop-up view and much more. With the update, Samsung wants to ensure that you can use the big screen of your tablet more effectively and productively.
What the new Samsung tablets can do:
Other Samsung tablets are likely to follow
Samsung now offers a very good update policy and also provides older tablets with software updates. Although only the Galaxy Tab S8 tablets are currently being updated to Android 12L, you can actually count on older models also receiving this software update. We will still have to see which models exactly, but the predecessors with a high degree of probability.
It’s not even Android 13, which is also expected to be a major software update for the tablets. Here Samsung just released a huge update before Android 13, which increases the added value of the tablets enormously. Since Google is now increasingly looking at Android tablets, we can expect many more innovations in this area.
