Samsung is breaking new ground: the mobile phone revolution is about to begin

Samsung builds a lot of smartphones and since a few years also foldable devices. But it will not stop there. Samsung has often shown where it should go in the future. Now the South Korean company has secured two brand names that hint at the new devices that we can expect to see in the near future.

Samsung is preparing two pull-out smartphones

Samsung disclosed its plans many years ago. The company no longer just wants to build normal smartphones, but also ones that can be folded and pulled apart. Samsung has now implemented the former with the Fold and Flip series. Pull-out smartphones or tablets are not yet available as purchasable products. That could change soon, because Samsung has changed the designations Saved “Slidable Flex Solo” and “Slidable Flex Duet”. (Source: SamMobile).

If you look at the names, then it could be smartphones that can slide out their display on one or both sides. The “Slidable Flex Solo” could be a modification of the Galaxy Z Fold 4, which is not opened but extended, thus doubling the display area. The “Slidable Flex Duet”, on the other hand, could be even more interesting. It could have the ability of “Slidable Flex Solo” but also be able to slide out the display on the other side and thus become a tablet.

Samsung has already shown the future of smartphones in the video:

When are Samsung’s new sliding smartphones coming?

The fact that Samsung has secured the names is a good sign that there are products for which the names can be used. That does not mean, however, that these will be presented in a timely manner and come onto the market. Pull-out smartphones are one of the biggest challenges for manufacturers. Many companies have plans for this, but have not yet been able to produce a product that is ready for series production. If Samsung can do that, it would take the lead again, as it did with folding phones.
