‘Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Watch 4 release date leaked’
Samsung’s launch event of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Watch 4 is approaching. Although the exact launch date is still unknown, Jon Prosser does announce that the Galaxy Watch 4 will be on sale from the beginning of August. This points to a ‘near launch’, he said.
Samsung Unpacked 2021
Samsung is expected to announce at least two more foldable phones, the Galaxy S21 FE and Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Tab S models this year. Normally, Samsung will hold its second Unpacked event of the year at the beginning of August. The event where the Note series was originally announced. Rumors from Jon Prosser, a rumor maker with a good track record, may point to an early Unpacked event.
Prosser says he has heard from sources that Samsung wants to have the Galaxy Watch 4 on store shelves from August 11. It is therefore about the ‘release date’, not the date of the launch event. Sources of the rumor also state that they have information about the release dates of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 – both foldable phones will be offered for sale from August 27.
When Samsung will host the Unpacked event for the Galaxy Watch 4, Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 is still unknown. Prosser speculates on his website about an Unpacked event in June. For now, that remains unconfirmed. Given that Samsung wants to have the products on (digital) store shelves at the beginning of August, an Unpacked event at the beginning of July seems in line with expectations. Those are also speculations on our part, it will continue to look like coffee grounds for the time being until Samsung officially announces ‘Unpacked’.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Z Fold 3
Samsung has many innovations in store for us. For example, during I/O 2021, it was announced that Samsung is moving away from Tizen for its Galaxy Watch wearables. Samsung’s smartwatches will now run on an optimized version of Google’s Wear OS instead of Tizen OS. Precise details about the software – as well as the hardware – of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Watch (Active) 4 are still missing. Rumors do speak of a new Exynos chip for Wear OS with a 5nm process, and the Galaxy Watch 4 may come in two sizes: 42mm and 46mm.
Samsung is not only renewing its smartwatches this year. It is also rumored to be bringing an Under Panel Camera to a Samsung phone for the first time, specifically the Galaxy Z Fold 3. ZTE previously introduced this technology on the Axon 20 5G, but it didn’t remain a great success afterwards. Whether Samsung has succeeded in getting the cameras under the screen to work properly will have to become apparent after the Unpacked event.
Mobile World Congress 2021
Samsung may reveal more information about upcoming Samsung Galaxy products during the MWC in Barcelona. While Samsung is not expected to announce products at the physical technology show, it is possible that Samsung will use the technology show to tease the upcoming products.
