Samsung Galaxy S23 users are complaining about blur in photos

With the Samsung Galaxy S23 series you have an extensive range of devices at your fingertips. The phones do a lot of good, but it doesn’t seem to go well everywhere. The S23 series camera now suffers from partial blur.

Reports are circulating on the internet about problems with the camera of the S23 series devices. To be specific, the problem in question would occur with the Samsung Galaxy S23 and the Galaxy S23+. There are -for now- no known cases of similar problems with the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. The problem is about partial blur in the photos taken with the two devices.

The blurry parts are particularly visible in photographed texts. Several users who have the problem on their S23 or S23+ have coined the term “fuzzy banana”. This is because it appears to be in the shape of a banana. The photo below is shared with a German user.

The problem also occurs in the Netherlands, according to an inventory by DroidApp. Tim, among others, reports a similar story with his Galaxy S23+. It is clear that part of the photographed text is not sharp.

In (some) cases, the problem with blur also crops up in other situations, not just when photographing text. However, this is less noticeable, so it may be that it has not been noticed before. For that reason, we did not notice it in the Galaxy S23 Plus review. However, it seems that not every user has the problem.

It is not known what is causing the camera issues on the Galaxy S23+ and S23. It is unclear whether it is a hardware problem or a problem that can be solved with a software update. Samsung has not yet responded to the messages. If we have more information, we will of course keep you informed.
