Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra will overtake Galaxy Note sales
Samsung’s Galaxy S22 Ultra is a hit. It must be said that this smartphone appeals to the Galaxy Note amateur public and that’s normal. Indeed, Samsung has ended its Galaxy Note range, but the Galaxy S22 Ultra is still in the same line.
According Ice Universe, Samsung’s projected annual sales of the Galaxy S22 Ultra will be around 10.9 million units. By comparison, Samsung had risen to the top with the Galaxy Note 8, which sold just over 10 million units in its first year. For the Galaxy Note 9, it was a total of 9.6 million copies. And for the Galaxy Note 10, it was 9.5 million copies. It was the Galaxy Note 20 of 2020 which turned out to be below with 7.5 million units sold. Going back even further in time, Samsung sold over 50 million Galaxy Note devices between 2011 and 2013, mostly consisting of the Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy Note 3.
There are certainly a number of reasons why Samsung is seeing demand for the Galaxy S22 Ultra. First, Samsung skipped a generation expecting to release an S Pen-equipped device in early 2022, instead of the usual late 2021 release date that most fans of the lineup had expected. Also, the first tests were positive, which naturally helps in terms of sales. On the other hand, we consume more and more media on smartphones and it is true that a large format is comfortable for this type of use.
