Samsung Galaxy S22 gets a small battery and slow ‘fast charging’

The new Samsung Galaxy S22 series will still have to wait a few months, but there is already a lot of information available. According to the latest rumors, Samsung seems to provide the device with a smaller battery than with the predecessor.

Smaller battery at S22?

If we go by the new rumors that have come in about the Galaxy S22 series, it may just be that the new S22 will have a smaller battery than the predecessor. The usually well-informed source Ice Universe, releases new details about the smallest device from the S22 series. And it will certainly be small, because according to the source, the new Samsung Galaxy S22 will be smaller in size than the iPhone 13. The size is probably close to the Samsung Galaxy S10e.

The news about the battery capacity of the Samsung Galaxy S22 is interesting. This would come out at 3700 mAh. This is a lot smaller than with the Galaxy S21. The device has a 4000 mAh battery. In addition, it is clear that the Galaxy S22 will have a display with a size of 6.06 inches. That is still larger than the 5.8-inch screen of the Galaxy S10e. Information about the other two models expected with the S22 series is not yet known in terms of battery capacity.

Fast charging seems to be extra important for many manufacturers. For example, we already saw Oppo, OnePlus and, for example, Xiaomi with high charging speeds of 65W or higher. At Samsung, they still don’t seem to see anything in it. According to the source, the Samsung Galaxy S22 will charge with a power of (only) 25 watts. Not exactly a top speed that you expect from a high-end device. The same source does say that the Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra can charge with 45 watts.

We don’t expect the announcement until early 2022. Until then, we will undoubtedly learn more about the S22 series.
