Samsung Galaxy A71 gets updates less often

Samsung has adjusted the update schedule for the Samsung Galaxy A71. The number of updates that are rolled out for the smartphone will be reduced with this.

Other update schedule for Galaxy A71

Two years ago, Samsung introduced the Samsung Galaxy A71, an extensive smartphone in the A series. Until now, the manufacturer has released a new (security) update for the A71 every quarter, but that is now going to change. DroidApp reader Mike reports this to us, who stumbled upon the change.

From now on, the Samsung Galaxy A71 will be updated once every six months. This means that the mid-end device will receive two updates per year. Last month this news came out for the Samsung Galaxy A51, so it was only a matter of time before this would also apply to the Galaxy A71.

The fact that the device receives fewer updates does not mean that there will be no more important updates. For example, the smartphone will receive updates until the beginning of 2024 and we can still expect Android 12 and Android 13, along with a new version of One UI.
