Samsung Galaxy A41 and Galaxy A51 5G get updates less often

Samsung has made changes to the update policy for two of its smartphones. The Samsung Galaxy A41 and the Galaxy A51 5G will be offered an update less often from the South Korean manufacturer.

Galaxy A41 and A51 5G with fewer updates

In February it was announced that the Galaxy A51 will now only receive two updates per year, which concern security updates. The 5G version was not explicitly mentioned here. That is now the case. A security update will also be published twice a year for the Galaxy A51 5G. The same news also applies to the Galaxy S10 5G that was sold in some regions. Earlier, the update cycle was already scaled back for the Galaxy S9 and S10 series.

Samsung has also announced changes to the update policy for the Galaxy A41. This also applies that there will be two security updates per year. The smartphone appeared on the market in May 2020 and is therefore now being scaled back in the number of updates. It is not known how long the A51 5G and Galaxy A41 will be fully provided with updates.
