The Galaxy S23 from Samsung should appear earlier than expected. According to reports from South Korea, the company prefers the presentation of the smartphone by a few weeks. The iPhone 14 could have something to do with the change of plan – but Samsung itself has something to make up for, too.

Samsung Galaxy S23 could appear earlier

Samsung has reportedly shared its preliminary release roadmap for the Galaxy S23 series with its partners and ordered the parts needed to manufacture it (source: ET News). From this it can be read that the group has a slightly earlier start date than the Galaxy S22 series is aiming for. The phones were unveiled on February 9, 2022 and went on sale on the 25th of the same month.

Samsung could do with the successors Early or mid January 2023 lift the curtain at an Unpacked event. A release of the Galaxy S23 cell phones would then be expected in late January or early February. Only Samsung itself knows whether these dates are really as accurate as currently speculated.

As for the reasons for the possible earlier release, South Korea says that Samsung no longer wants to leave the field to the iPhone 14. The iPhone 14 Pro in particular has been well received by customers, which Samsung is trying to change with the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

In addition to a revised design that more oriented towards the look of the Ultra models, it can be assumed that the Galaxy S23 smartphones will have a slightly larger battery. We will find out what else will change in the coming weeks and months.

Samsung itself has something to make up for with fans. On the Galaxy S22 the in-house “Game Optimizing Service” attracted negative attention, which made many apps slower. Samsung had to face an investigation in South Korea. The app brake was then removed with an update – and it shouldn’t even appear on the Galaxy S23.
