Samsung adds ‘Astrofoto’ to camera app on Galaxy S22 series
The Samsung Galaxy S22 series gets a new camera function. Samsung has announced the new Astrophoto feature for the camera to compete with the Night Sight mode on the Pixel devices.
Astrophoto in camera app
Google’s Pixel devices are equipped with the Night Sight function. This allows you to take the most beautiful night photos, with which the starry sky lights up beautifully. Samsung has now announced its own function for the camera app that should also make this possible. Samsung calls the feature Astrophoto.
The Astrophoto functionality is available in the Expert RAW app which can be downloaded from the Galaxy Store. This application is also available in the Netherlands and Belgium. Then you can get started with Astrophoto, where you can choose different options. For example, it is possible to show the AI view, containing the celestial bodies that are layered over the screen.
To use Astrophoto it is best to use a tripod. The shutter speed for taking a photo is 4, 7 or 10 minutes, depending on which mode you choose. Several frames are captured, which are then combined into a perfect end result. Also, the updated Expert RAW app has been updated with a number of new multiple exposure features.
It is not known whether Samsung will also make the function available for other devices from the Galaxy line-up.
