Ricochet -apkrig also comes to Warzone with the Pacific map
Activision boasted a new Ricochet anti-cheat system a few weeks ago. This is another solution to the enduring problem with the cheaters that are flooding Call of Duty, and especially the free battle royale of Warzone. According to information from October this year, Call of Duty: Vanguard is to be the first in the main line of the series to see the deployment of Ricochet, with the start of a new season in Warzone and the launch of a new Pacific map. Preparations have taken place on the server side in recent weeks, but only now does the game receive the Ricochet tool, with the involvement of drivers entering the kernel, ie the kernel of the operating system.
The information appeared a few hours ago on social networks, from where the developers of Call of Duty refer to the report with further details. They explain that some of the components of Ricochet already work in both titles, but now comes the driver, which was developed internally exclusively for Call of Duty and promises stability and secure data collection for learning artificial intelligence, which will then take care of the search for cheaters. and their punishment. As we mentioned earlier, this part of Ricochet only applies to PC players, of course, but it should also benefit consoles who come into contact with cheaters through cross-play.
At the end of the new blog post, the developers remind players that players do not underestimate the function of reporting suspicious behavior of other players.
Activision also states that in the first phase, the driver will only affect players in the Asia-Pacific region, which is not related to the new Warzone environment, but to the strategic approach of developers, which will allow clear targeting to better analyze collected data and then release Ricochet in the full version and to other regions. Since there is currently no specific launch plan in other areas, the developers in the improvised Q&A section have explained that everyone knows the presence of the driver by whether or not the Ricochet logo appears when the game starts. The installation is automatic, the driver does not start until the game itself starts, and after it is turned off, Ricochet also disconnects again. This is a slightly different solution than in the case of Valorant, whose anti-cheat starts when the system starts, and even though it can be turned off, restarting Valorant requires a restart and therefore reintroduction of protections.
At the end of the new blog post, the developers remind players that players do not underestimate the function of reporting suspicious behavior of other players. These are also very valuable data for the artificial intelligence system, according to which they learn more and more patterns of behavior of players with cheats, according to which they can more accurately distinguish who supportive who uses the software and who does not. So we’ll see how Ricochet works and whether it can at least slow down the influx of cheaters who spoil the experience for everyone. The new season in Warzone begins today at 6 p.m.
