Research on inscription - find lost fragments

The world quest “Inscription Research” has been available in Genshin Impact since Update 3.6 and you can accept it in the Sumeru Desert. The quest consists of two subtasks, with the search for the lost fragments causing the problems. In this guide we show you where to find the fragments.

Start “Research on Inscription”.

You cannot accept the world quest “Research on Inscription” from the beginning, but you have to fulfill a condition. Namely, you have to tackle the main quest line “Khvarena of Good and Evil” in the new part of the Sumeru desert. After completing the related quests “Pure Sound of Awakening” and “Asipattravana Itihasa”, you will receive the quest “Light of Khvarena”. Follow this quest until you get the task “Talk to Naseyuna”. From this point you can accept “Research on Inscription” from Sosi. Sosi is at the camp in Temir Mountains (south of a statue of the seven)in which you also have to talk to Nasejuna.

Locations of the Lost Fragments

After you have talked to Sosi, in addition to “Research on inscription” you will receive the sub-task “Investigate the Fatui camps marked by Sosi”, which you must complete first. This shouldn’t be a problem as the camps you’re looking for will be displayed on your map. After doing this, you will be given the task “Search for the lost fragments of the stone inscription”. You have to interpret clues and find the locations without markings on the map. To make matters worse, you can only see and collect the fragments using Sorush. So use your companion at the following locations.

1st lost fragment

The first fragment is under the big tree by the barsom heights in the north of the desert.

2nd lost fragment

You can find the second fragment near the teleportation point of the Vourukasha Oasis collect. The fragment is on the crag a few meters south of the teleportation point.

3. lost fragment

You will find the third fragment to the west of the Asipattavana swamp. In front of the cave passage, follow the thick tree vines and float up to discover the fragment.
