Redmi K60 phones will be announced next week

Xiaomi has announced that it will announce its new Redmi K60 smartphones after Christmas. There would first be a phone that is completely grafted on gaming, with regular devices later.

Redmi K60

Striking to make such an announcement between Christmas and New Year’s Eve, but on the other hand also smart: we don’t expect many other announcements during this quiet period. The smartphone has three cameras on the back, probably including a periscopic zoom lens (with a square opening for the lens).

There is a speaker at the top, plus a hole for the microphone. Infrared would also be present, so that you can also use the device as a remote control for your television. We see infrared more often at Xiaomi, so it’s no surprise. Furthermore, there are not really specifications of the device (or information about any other devices within the line) yet, so we will have to wait until Xiaomi does its word on Tuesday.

In any case, we do not expect to be able to buy them in the Netherlands next year. At least not under that name. Many Redmi K phones never get a release in Europe under that name: we then know them under Poco, such as Poco X4 GT, which is actually a Redmi K50i. A phone that was already quite powerful. We are very pleased with the X4 Pro:

“POCO has again managed to make a good budget smartphone. For about 290 euros you get an incredibly good smartphone with a beautiful screen, very strong battery and excellent camera. In terms of speed, however, you do deliver something compared to the competition. And this is striking. Because where POCO managed to crush the competition in recent years when it came to speed, they are now surpassed themselves.”

Announcement from Xiaomi

So we are looking forward to this announcement, especially since Xiaomi always tries to add something innovative to its devices, for example the latest processors.

The presentation will take place on Tuesday at 7:00 PM in China (so we expect to make the announcement at noon here on Androidworld.

Is it a device you look forward to? Now leave it with this article.
