Realme 9 Pro, 9 Pro+ and 9i with chameleon design announced

Manufacturer Realme has announced three new smartphones. Two models feature a special chameleon design.

Realme 9 Pro and Pro+

Three new models have been added to the Realme portfolio. The manufacturer has officially announced the Realme 9 Pro and the Realme 9 Pro+. Both models will also be available in the Netherlands, we can confirm.

What immediately catches the eye is the presence of the so-called chameleon design. When the light strikes it in a special way, the color is adjusted. It changes color from blue to red in sunlight. This is due to the photochromic layer over the back of both models. The color is called ‘Sunrise Blue’.

Realme supplies the Realme 9 Pro and Pro+ both with Android 12, at least 128GB of storage and 6/8GB of RAM. You can also use dual SIM and there is a 16 megapixel front camera.

Where you would expect the Realme 9 Pro+ to be the most extensive model, Realme uses a curious name; with the Realme 9 Pro being the most extensive. We list the specifications and details.

Realme 9 Pro

The Realme 9 Pro offers a 6.6-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. There is a Snapdragon 695 chipset, 5000 mAh battery with 33W charging and a triple camera. This camera offers a 64-megapixel main lens, an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera and a 2MP macro lens.

With the Realme 9 Pro+ we see a MediaTek Dimensity 920 processor. There is a 6.4-inch AMOLED screen with Full-HD+ resolution and there is a refresh rate of 90Hz. The smartphone will have a 4500 mAh battery with 65W fast charging and a triple camera. Here we see a 50 megapixel main sensor, 8 megapixel wide-angle lens and 2 megapixel macro lens. With the fast charging, the Pro+ distinguishes itself from the ‘normal’ Pro model.

Without giving much publicity to it, there is also the Realme 9i. This smartphone also gets a 6.6-inch screen, has a triple camera with 50MP sensor and has a 5000 mAh battery with 33W charging. The smartphone was previously announced, but is also coming to the Netherlands. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 680 chipset and therefore, unlike the other two devices, does not have 5G on board.
