Putin against Luke Skywalker: a little Strength for Ukraine?

Between the “war bots” on Telegram and applications for reporting drones, new technologies are flying to the aid of the Ukrainian people.

Повітряна тривога (Povitryana trivoga or anti-aircraft alarm in French) is an application for Android and iOS which has recently been talked about for having a godfather: Mark Hamill aka Luke Skywalker.

The famous comedian turned dubbing actor lends his voice here to warn app users in the event of an air attack. You can hear him say “Attention. Air raid alert” And “Proceed to the nearest shelter” in the event that the Ministry of Defense reports a danger in an area. When the alert is over, Anakin’s son concludes his intervention with a “May the force be with you”.

On the app, just choose your region to be warned of air raids in the area. An English version allows journalists present on site to use it without having to decipher Cyrillic.

“The force is strong with this one”

This is no mere blink of an eye since since the start of the war, Mark Hamill has been one of many celebrities to contribute to humanitarian efforts in Ukraine. He participated in the campaign Dronation (portmanteau for “drone” and “donation”) to fund the purchase of 1,400 reconnaissance drones.

On the page dedicated to the application in the Play Store, we can read the comment of a Ukrainian:
