Stiftung Warentest has tested gas grills

The first place gets again Rösle Videro Pure G3 with a grade of 2.0. It achieves the best grilling results, is easy to assemble and has a practical viewing window in the lid. The susceptibility to rusting, which is unacceptable at a price of around 500 euros, attracted negative attention. In addition, it is very expansive because it is high and wide. The shelves on the side cannot be folded down.

Second place goes to the price-performance winner Enders Chicago 3 with a grade of 2.1. At just over 200 euros (see Amazon), this gas grill not only costs relatively little, it also works very efficiently and uses little gas. In addition, it can be assembled compactly, so that it does not take up an unnecessarily large amount of space. In the pollutant measurement, a 1.0 was even awarded as a grade. The processing quality was criticized for this. There are some sharp edges and rusting issues may occur.

Third place goes to the very similar one Hellweg Rothman Ottawa with a grade of 2.4. However, the gas grill heats up relatively slowly and only received a grade of 2.4 in the pollutant measurement.

Expensive gas grills perform worse

The really expensive gas grills from Napoleon with 840 euros (grade 3.1) and Weber with 700 euros (grade 2.8) end up in last place. Although the Napoleon Rogue 425 convinces with very good operation and is not prone to rust, it poses the risk of burns and assembly is very time-consuming. In addition, the grill grate emits pollutants. Although the Weber Spirit E-315 GBS offers the highest temperature and the best temperature distribution, it is also prone to rust and the grill grate emits pollutants.
