Proton releases app for storage service Proton Drive

Proton has released a new application for Android and Apple iOS. You can now use the Proton Drive service on your smartphone or tablet. The service is provided with extra security and can serve as an alternative to, for example, Google Drive.

You can now find the new Proton app in the Google Play Store. It is the company’s online cloud service, which allows you to store files online and securely. The service was previously released as a web version, but lacked a physical app. The application thus makes it possible to store files in a way that we know from various other services. This gives users the option to create folders and you can also share files with others. As you would expect from the Swiss company, files are well secured and end-to-end encryption is used.

Anyone with a Proton account can use the Cloud Drive service for free. There is 1GB of storage space. When you opt for a Proton Unlimited subscription, you get 500GB of storage space and 15 email addresses. This subscription costs about a tenner per month if you pay annually. Proton is still working on an app for macOS and Windows.
