Apple Reality was scheduled for April

In recent months, it has become increasingly clear about Apple Reality, Apple’s first VR glasses. It seemed very likely that Apple would present the glasses in the spring of 2023, namely in April. However, according to Apple analyst Mark Gurman, Apple will not meet this deadline and the presentation of the Apple Reality has been postponed again.

The fact that the launch of VR glasses has been postponed again does not really come as a big surprise. Apple has been working on the glasses for years and has postponed the presentation of the Apple Reality several times. The glasses are now expected to be in the final development phase, but are not yet ready to be launched.

Problems with both hardware and software

The postponement of the presentation of Apple Reality is reportedly related to multiple problems, both with the hardware and software of the glasses. After all, it is the first VR glasses that the company produces, so developing them is still a big challenge.

The main problems probably have to do with xrOS, the operating system on which the Apple Reality will run. In addition, there are complications with the wearing comfort of the glasses. VR glasses are often on the heavy side and therefore not very pleasant to wear (for a longer period of time). Apple is therefore experimenting with moving the battery of the glasses.

Postponing the presentation of the Apple Reality does not necessarily mean bad news. The later release date gives Apple more time to market the glasses as best as possible. After all, it wouldn’t look good on Apple if the company’s first VR glasses still have quite a few teething problems. The later launch therefore means that the Apple Reality will be even better.

Apple Reality is now being presented at WWDC

The presentation of the Apple Reality is now not expected until June, probably at Apple’s WWDC. Apple is also expected to announce iOS 17, iPadOS 17, macOS 14, tvOS 17 and watchOS 10 at this event. With the introduction of the Apple Reality, xrOS can also be added to this list.

In any case, it is clear that Apple still has a number of obstacles to overcome before the glasses are actually presented. Apple’s first VR glasses will not be a product for the general public, the Apple Reality will have a price tag of about $ 3000. When will Apple release VR glasses to the general public?
